Open the configuration in Extensions > My extensions, then Configure in the menu of Gift Cards & Vouchers.
Buy Giftcard Configuration
Activation action
When the gift card of an order is created and sent:
- Payment status: paid (default): when the payment of the order is set to paid, by a payment provider or in the Administration.
- Order placed: right after the order is placed, before it is paid.
Allow download of bought Giftcards in My Account > Orders
Shows a Download button next to bought gift cards in the order details of My Account.
Redeem Giftcard Configuration
Calculation type
How a redeemed gift card is taken into account in the cart, the order and the invoice.
Means of payment (recommended)
The gift card pays (a part of) the order. It is added as a line item without VAT, so the VAT of the products stays due, as required for multi-purpose vouchers. Gift cards sold as a single-purpose voucher lower the VAT instead. The cart, the order and the invoice show the gift card below the total, followed by the amount to pay.
This is the only calculation type that supports the VAT treatment per product, and the default for new installations.
Discount line item (lowers VAT)
The gift card is added like a promotion and lowers the VAT of the order. Only use this when you charge VAT when gift cards are sold.
Recalculate cart totals (legacy)
The order total and the payment amount are lowered. The line items and the VAT stay as they are.
An update keeps the calculation type you had. Shops that already had gift cards without a stored calculation type are set to Recalculate cart totals (legacy). Switch to Means of payment to use the VAT treatment per product and the gift card rows below the total.
Gift cards can't pay for new gift cards
The amount of gift card products in the cart can't be paid with redeemed gift cards. This prevents customers from exchanging gift cards for new ones, e.g. to extend their validity.
Giftcard Code Configuration
Code length
The number of characters of new gift card codes. Default: 16. Existing codes don't change.
Giftcard Email and PDF
Giftcard email template
The e-mail template used to send gift cards. The plugin installs the template "Template for email to client who bought giftcard". Edit it in Settings > Email templates, or choose your own. See E-mail template.
Send the buyer a copy when the gift card is sent to someone else
When the buyer entered the e-mail address of the recipient, the buyer gets a copy (BCC) of the e-mail. Default: on.
PDF Logo
The logo of the built-in Just for you template. It is also available as templateConfig.logo in your own designs.
